Tulsi
My teaching style: I am known for my unique self-expression and spiritually inspirational classes that connect both the physical and mystical aspects of yoga. I teach a strong flow of vinyasa (every movement of my class is linked with the breath) with additional focus on chanting & meditation, to ignite the journey inward toward self-realization. My teaching is full of bhakti and bhav- love, devotion, and a divine uplifting mood.
About me: (E-RYT 500) A dedicated student of yoga since 2002, I began my practice in a small studio in NYC while studying the history of art at New York University. I attended my first teacher training in 2010 and I am certified in Jivamukti yoga, Original Hot Yoga and Hatha yoga. I’ve practiced and extensively studied the traditional systems of yoga, which are my foundation – however, I believe there comes a time for each individual to question why things are the way they are and dare to break free and find what methods works best for them… even if that means making a detour from the path and making your own way! Yoga is as individual as a fingerprint.
If you could live in a TV Series, which one would it be? The reality television show: Survivor - because I KNOW I would win.
Favorite food: ‘Pasta with oil’ that my Tuscan husband makes just for me after yoga class when I teach late.
Most memorable yoga experience: Many early, cold winter mornings with a scarf wrapped tightly around my neck at my favorite ashram in north India practicing silently with strangers building up our body temperature as we moved pose to pose, finishing at 7am and then having tea from the chai wallah on the street corner.
What do you love about yourself the most? My ability to think quickly and problem solve.
