Whats your yoga style? I’m trained in Power Vinyasa and love to connect strong, challenging postures to fun musical beats while also feeling the freedom in your body of breath to movement flow. More often than not, you’ll be surprised (pleasantly!) by a little bit of core work and always enjoy a deep, relaxing savasana at the end. My goal is for you to find a way to connect to and challenge yourself on the mat and walk out of class feeling proud with the energy to make the world just a bit more peaceful and positive.
About me: Originally from Chicago, I started practicing yoga when I moved to Arizona and began a corporate career in 2010. While an avid runner my entire life, yoga brought me a newfound sense of grounding and compassion towards myself I hadn’t yet experienced in life. As I continued to move throughout the United States (Southern California and Seattle, WA) over the next nine years, my yoga mat became my home. In 2019, I was finally inspired to go on my first yoga retreat in Marrakech. This is where life really shifted for me.
Feeling more grounded and connected to myself than ever before, I shortly thereafter made a decision to uproot my entire life and move to Tokyo at the start of 2020. Since then, it’s truly been an adventure, and I’ve opened up my world to so many new possibilities I never before thought possible. In a strange way, 18 months in Tokyo (the world’s most densely populated city) led me to the charming, tiny country of Luxembourg, and I couldn’t be happier. I know I am exactly where I am meant to be. I live my life by the motto “be fearless,” and I encourage the people I am lucky enough to encounter in life to embrace the same.
Where you’ll find me when I’m not at yogaloft: When I’m not at yogaloft. you can find me running - on the road or on trails, likely training for my next full or ultra marathon.
I am inspired by: The art of Kinsugi, which literally means to repair with gold. It is the concept that we are all more beautiful having been broken and teaches us to truly embrace our uniqueness and our flaws.
Favorite food: Cold, square cut pizza…for breakfast.
Favorite Yoga Pose: Malasana / “Yogi Squat” This is my go-to grounding posture in the middle of or at the end of a long day. It brings me back to a peaceful mind through feeling connected to myself and to the Earth. Added bonus that it is a phenomenal hip opener where many of us hold so much tension and stress.
